Ulysses' Shelter: building writers-in-residence network

organizes literary residences for young writers, translators and editors. The project began at the end of 2018 in three locations - Ljubljana, Larissa and Pomena on the island of Mljet, organized by Sandorf Publishing from Zagreb, in partnership with Slovenian Writers' Society (DSP) from Ljubljana and publishing house Thraka from Larissa. Each resident spends three weeks at each location from December 2018 to October 2019. The network of partners has since extended to include Literary Association Krokodil from Belgrade, Literature Across Frontiers from Wales, Inizjamed from Malta, Culture Reset from the Czech Republic, and Mallorca Film Commission from Spain. The idea of the project is to bring together artists from around the world and expose the creative potential of various European locations. Tovar.hr is the main means of informing about the Ulysses' Shelter project - about the residents, their work, and events within the project (readings, workshops, conferences and social events with residents).

International Library of Poetry - Cataloging the Books from Donations

Sandorf's team officially delivered the book donations to the International Library of Poetry on the island of Mljet.

The International Library of Poetry, established as a part of the "Ulysses' Shelter" project, provided a cataloging program through an agreement with the Zagreb City Library. This program allowed the books received through donations for the ILP (International Library of Poetry) to be cataloged and visible in the general online catalog. Sandorf cataloged a part of the donated books in their office in Zagreb, and transported them to Mljet to officially donate to the Small Island Library, the local informal library in the village of Babino Polje. A workshop on cataloging was held with the local administrator of the library and a number of e-readers were also donated to the library for the local members to be able to borrow and read e-books from the ZAKI collection available online, which was not previously possible in the Small Island Library.

From now on, the inventory of the International Library of Poetry (as a part of Small Island Library) will be visible online throughout the world and
the poetry collection in making, in all world languages, will be accessible to all the members (local audience and international tourists). The project continues and has big plans for 2026, connecting Mljet with the rest of the world through poetry!
